Mechanics That Respect Your Skill

Every number exists to make good reads feel better and bad reads feel fixable.

The Philosophy of Feel

We tuned physics to preserve intent. If your plan is valid, you shouldn’t lose to input weirdness. That means stable frame pacing, predictable curves, and small-but-real buffer windows.

When things go wrong, the game explains itself via clear states rather than surprise penalties. You’re invited to learn, not punished for trying.

Physics & Input

Touch and controller curves are authored independently. We keep acceleration and deceleration within narrow bands so arcs feel consistent across devices.

  • Latency budget: input < 45 ms target on mid devices.
  • Frame pacing: 16.6 ms average with variance smoothing.
  • Collision forgiveness tuned to visible hitboxes.

Difficulty Curves

We prefer predictable ramps over spikes. Patterns layer gradually so you can practice components before combining them under pressure.

  1. Teach a read in isolation.
  2. Combine reads into small tests.
  3. Raise density within the same grammar.

Combo & Multiplier

Combos are about consistency, not perfection. A small timing wobble won’t zero your multiplier, but repeated mistakes will.

  • Multiplier soft decay over two beats after a hit.
  • Cap designed to prevent runaway scoring.

Spawn Logic

Hazards and pickups follow cadences that players can learn. We discourage unfair overlaps by design and telegraph high-risk moments with motion cues.

  • No unavoidable hits in seeded patterns.
  • Clear shimmer tells for upcoming mover shifts.

Meta Progression

Unlock routes, cosmetics, and assist toggles by mastering clean runs. Nothing you buy will ever help you score more.

Accessibility Mechanics

High-contrast themes, scalable UI, color-blind safe cues, and optional audio assists support longer sessions for more players.

Balancing Notes

We slowed mover acceleration by 7% after players reported unreadable overlaps at high densities.

Adjusted crosswind decay so corrections don’t over-shoot at low speeds, reducing frustration for new players.

Echo now requires one clean beat between activations to prevent autopilot abuse during Trials.
